Mark B. Weiss
Founder
Mark B. Weiss, President of Mark B. Productions, is a producer, writer, director, author, and comedian who has built a multifaceted career spanning advertising, comedy, publishing, and film.
Weiss began his creative journey in 1972, writing and producing radio commercials for retail chains, banks, and real estate brokerages. He also produced animated and print advertising for catalogs and direct mail campaigns.
In the early 1990s, Weiss trained in ensemble comedy at The Second City in Chicago. During this time, he began performing stand-up comedy while also collaborating on sketch material for improv stages.
By 2001, he transitioned into publishing, authoring five real estate books with two national publishing houses: Adams Media (later acquired by Simon & Schuster) and Kaplan Publishing (later acquired by John Wiley & Sons). Within four years, he became a published authority on real estate topics nationwide.
In 2010, Weiss released his first novel, The I Can’t Get Enough Club, a story exploring greed, corruption, and politics in the banking industry. He later returned to the stand-up stage in 2015.
In 2018, Weiss launched Chicago Demo Reel Productions, writing, directing, and filming audition reels for national talent. The following year, he wrote the prototype and produced the pilot for Brewed Awakenings, a feature-length film currently being developed as a screenplay. His novel The I Can’t Get Enough Club is also slated for screenplay production in late 2026.
